Do you need to install software on your laptop? Breck has its very own version of an app store called Self Service. This is the first place you should check when looking to install software. The most common things people install from Self Service are applications and printers that are located around the school.
Self Service
Self Service is most likely on your dock already, but if it's not, here is how to find it:
1. Click the Finder icon on your dock.
2. Click Applications along the left side.
3. Find Self Service and double click to open it.
Once Self Service is open, you can browse or search for available software.
After you find the desired software, click the Install button. Some applications take a few minutes to install because they are big, so be patient. If you cancel the install and try to do it again because it's taking a while, this will cause duplicate requests which will most likely lead to the install failing.
Starting during the 2025-2026 school year, you can't run applications that are downloaded from the web. You will receive a popup message that says you can't open the applications. Only applications from Self Service can be installed on your laptop.
